Justice The Rights of Man The Fates - GOR-131378-cR17

The theme of Justice controlled by" "The Rights of Man" and "The Fates," has as its central panel the female figure of justice robed in white with an American flag draped over one shoulder. The murals are by Edward Emerson Simmons, a Beaux-Arts painter from 1893 to 1895.

They were presented to the old Criminal Court building by the Municipal Art Society on their completion. They were transferred to 100 Center Street in a 11th-floor courtroom in the present building in 1941.
