U.S. Congressman Anthony D. Weiner (D-Brooklyn & Queens) at the "We Cannot Forget, We Will Not Forget" is the theme of the Commemoration Day held on 44th Street and Times Square, speaking to audience of Armenian Americans and others.
We Remember The Armenian Genocide 92 years ago on April 24, the Armenian Genocide of 1915 began by the Ottoman Turkish Government. 1,500 Armenians were killed from 1915 to 1923. Even today, the Turkish government has yet to acknowledge the Genocide and other atrocities committed. The Ottoman Turks launched a deadly plan to transform their disintegrating, multi-ethnic empire into a homogeneous Turkish state. Their decision was made to annihilate every Armenian man, woman, and child through deportation, starvation and murder.
