Walking past the entrance the ‘Four Continents’ (Asia, America, Europe, and Africa) by Daniel Chester French. Each depicts aspects of ancient history, progress, and future aspirations. In America’s lap are stalks of corn, symbol of agricultural produce.
At the top of the façade stand 12 figures, depicting the seafaring nations of the world on the Alexander Hamilton Custom House.
