Color Guard Native American Women Warriors before the start of the Veteran's Day Parade in NYC.

Native American Women Warriors are the first ever recognized all Native American Women Color Guard. Organized March 2010 with their first performance at the Denver March Pow Wow 2010.

At that powwow, three female Soldiers, who represented the nations of the Crow, Northern Cheyenne and Navajo, were recognized as a color guard of uniqueness. Mitchelene BigMan designed a jingle dress in favor of her papatriotism to the military with the colors red, white, blue and Cheyenne pink. Unit, combat, U.S. Flag, Iraqi Freedom patches along with the Soldier’s rank were sewn onto the dresses. Mitchelene chose the jingle dress and style of dance because of its meaning: prayer and healing.
