Students at desk working on math problems. 6th Grade Gifted and Talented Advanced Math. This class is comprised of a 51% gifted and 49% talented population. It is an advanced math curriculum which goes quicker and covers times not covered in the general population. We were working on theoretical probability on the day you filmed. Students were using an electronic device referred to as ?responders?. The responder allows the student to respond to a question asked from the teacher and records all of the responses into a computer. The teacher is then able to determine who is or is not having difficulty on the spot vs. trying to get to everyone?s papers. It also keeps students engaged. All responses need to be in before the teacher divulges the answer.
