Police cars following protesters at the end of march as thousands of face mask Black Lives Matter protesters descend and march down 5th Avenue to Washington Square Park over George Floyd's death in Minneapolis.

As outrage grows nationwide over the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, hundreds of protesters descended on New York City on June 06 2020 marching down 5th Avenue chanting "I can't breathe" and “No justice, no peace!” "Black Life Matters"

Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was pinned to the ground by a white police officer who, video shows, put his knee on Floyd's neck for at least eight minutes before he died.

His death has led to massive protests across Minneapolis and the country, at times turning violent, with clashes between law enforcement and protesters.

Black Lives Matter (BLM) is an international human rights movement, originating in the African-American community, that campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people. BLM regularly holds protests speaking out against police..

The protest was largely peaceful, but marked by verbal confrontations between some protesters and police.
