• Blue Sky Clouds Background for Statue of Mohandas Gandhi.

A life-sized bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the 8-foot-high statue is located in Manhattan's Union Square.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Gandhi, as an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist and political ethicist who employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British rule, and to later inspire movements for civil rights and freedom.

Gandhi's statements, letters and life have attracted much political and scholarly analysis of his principles, practices and beliefs, including what influenced him.

Although Gandhi was not the originator of the principle of nonviolence, he was the first to apply it in the political field on a large scale. The concept of nonviolence has a long history in Indian religious thought, with it being considered the highest dharma (ethical value virtue), a precept to be observed towards all living beings, at all times, in all respects, in action, words and thought.

Gandhi e explains his philosophy and ideas about ahimsa as a political means in his autobiography The Story of My Experiments with Truth,

Gandhi's birthday, 2 October, is commemorated in India as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and .as
the International Day of Nonviolence. Gandhi is commonly, though not formally, considered the Father of the National India and was commonly called Bapu endearment for father, papa.

 • Street artist Libby Schoettle a plastered a paper-doll-like figure, “PhoebeNewYork,” on public spaces across the city, from brick walls to scaffolding.

She considers Phoebe her stylishly dressed alter ego: a round-headed woman with a bob haircut who grapples with femininity, sexual politics, and independence in fashion photo collages with provocative slogans.

As a perfectionist, Libby uses her art to fight against her own flaws, and to find beauty in the mistaken. She often chooses to make her collages from materials that “have lived an imperfect life,” as evidenced by wrinkles, bumps, spots and tears. She uses archival glue and mattes to attach her works.
The building was designated an official New York City landmark by the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2000, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark, designated in 1972. • Golda Meir is an outdoor bronze sculpture of former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir.

The sculpture is located a bronze sculpture Square near Broadway and 39th St in Manhattan, New York. It was unveiled in 1984.

It is one of only five statues of women in New York City, as of 2016

The bust of Golda Meir, by Beatrice Goldfine, was dedicated on October 3, 1984 at the southern end of a triangular plaza on Broadway, which was named Golda Meir Square in 1979. Commissioned by the Jewish Community Relations Council, the bronze bust rests on a pink granite pedestal and measures a total of six and a half feet tall.

Golda Meir (born Golda Mabobitch, 1898 – 1978, Hebrew: גּוֹלְדָּה מֵאִיר), one of the founders of the State of Israel, served as the Minister of Labour, Foreign Minister, and then as the fourth Prime Minister of Israel from March 17, 1969 (at age 70) to June 3, 1974. She is the first (and, to date, only) female Prime Minister of Israel, the third female Prime Minister in the world, and the first female head of state to oversee the development of a nuclear weapons program. She led Israel through the Yom Kippur War and the War or Attrition, and ordered the "Operation Wrath of God" following the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games.

The president of the company, John Rogers Hegeman, hired architect Napoleon LeBrun and Sons in 1907 to design a magnificent marble office tower to rival the other large skyscrapers that had begun springing up in Manhattan just a few years prior. Hegeman wanted the building to be the world's tallest.
As New Yorkers reached for the skies in the 1800's, water towers became an intricate part of the buildings' framework. As buildings grew taller than 6 stories, the main water infrastructure couldn't handle the water pressure. Water towers were needed to move water safely to the 7th floor and above.

Using gravity to help supply the water pressure, water is fed to pipes throughout the building, providing water for everyday use like showers and drinking, as well as extinguishing a fire.
It is relatively common, especially in the United States, to find the caduceus, with its two snakes and wings, used as a symbol of medicine instead of the Rod of Asclepius, with only a single snake.

The caduceus is the staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology and consequently by Hermes Trismegistus in Greco-Egyptian mythology. The same staff was also borne by heralds in general, for example by Iris, the messenger of Hera. It is a short staff entwined by two serpents, sometimes surmounted by wings.

Decomposition and decay are the yin to the yang of growth, and together they form two halves of the whole that is the closed-loop cycle of natural ecosystems.

Everything dies, and without the processes of decomposition and decay the world would quickly become not only overflowing with the remains of dead plants and animals, but also would experience a decline in new growth.
The newly created Orchestra of St. Veronica, the third concert toke place on February 10th 2018.

Michael Feldman is conducting an eclectic mix of professional musicians, some of which were founding members of the renowned Orchestra of St. Luke's back in the 1970's. These veterans of the classical repertoire will be joined by younger musicians, whose vigor and brash boldness will offer a striking counterpoint to the former's refined sensibilities. The February 10th concert will fearture a program of compositions by Bach and Mozart.

After the Church of St. Veronica closed its doors in July of 2017, George Capsis publisher of WestView News thought it a shame that a 127 year old tradition of serving the community would be lost. Troubled too by the underserved population of senior citizens in the neighborhood, Capsis was inspired to create a classical concert series that "will always be free to seniors"

The At St. Veronica's concert series is a grassroots project that depends on public support. The Catholic Archdiocese of New York has granted permission for a trial run of 6 months.
