The Flower District is primarily located on 28th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, with a few stores located directly on 6th Avenue near 28th Street. It is a community of plant wholesalers and retailers,

By 1977, more flowers were being bought and sold in New York than anywhere in the world other than Amsterdam.

West 28th Street once boasted more than 65 wholesalers. Now it’s a handful of second- and third-generation shops. As nearby hotels and condos shoot up, skyrocketing rents have forced out wholesalers and florists who can’t keep up, a pattern seen all over the city as bank branches and drugstore chains appear where family-owned stores once served neighborhoods.

Decorate weddings and corporate parties and wedding arrangements per month can keep some florists afloat. The district has become a tourist attraction.

Doesn't own a computer or smart phone believes in pencil and paper and reads the New York Times every day. He would not give his last name, not wanting me to google him and stay off the grid.

Only clue to his last name was "Eponimous" The definition of eponymous is something or someone that gives its name to something else.
An eponym is a person (real or fictitious) from whom something is said to take its name. The word is back-formed from "eponymous", from the Greek "eponymos" meaning "giving name".

Humberto Bernals eviction was stopped two years ago. He had an infection, thanks to a friend of thirty years he got hospitalized, then sent to Village Care Nursing Home. After 10 days they said: "you are all better, you have to leave.

"His apartment was a literal shit hole. Smelly, filthy, no paint in 40 years (he has lived there on Horatio since 1957 - he is 87), and his friend didn't want him to go back without a cleanup. They are trying to get him into an assisted living place, while she and Arthur Schwartz worked to put him up in a 30 day furnished apartment.

He left Cuba in 1957 and has lived in a 300 sq ft space since then. He has enough money for a daily 8 hour nurse, so he has company. The problem is, what would have happened if his friend wasn't there, and she didn't call me to pull off fancy footwork with building. He would have gone back and gottemn sick again in his hovel.
• Portrait of Madhava Naidoo a Krishna devotee at the Hare Krishna Festival of Chariot in Washington Square Park. This brand of Hinduism the movement revere their God, Krishna .

Kirtan always means call – and – response devotional singing, aiming to solely glorify Krishna. Any other ‘kirtan’ chant that maybe expressing the current fashion is short lived and bears no lasting fruit.

At the beginning of the last century the powerful Vaisnava guru Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur forcibly reestablished pure devotional Gaudiya practices while driving out its pseudo and insincere counterparts. He thus revealed the authentic personality of Sri Hari Nama Kirtan as, ‘Krishna is His Holy Name, and the Holy Name is Krishna. Krishna Nama is the son of Nanda, Shyamsundar. Sri Nama Sankirtana is the best sadhana. That which is meant for gratifying the mundane senses is not Hari kirtana. That by which Krishna’s senses are satisfied is Hari Kirtana.’

Srila Prabhupada, the foremost disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta, perfectly mirrored his guru’s spirit. He instructed that we should chant feeling the presence of Krishna. If we can’t do that then we should sincerely try to hear ourselves chant and the chanting should be done in a helpless, dependent attitude – like a child crying for its mother. ‘And you can see Krishna face to face in this very lifetime. I guarantee you,’ he says.

Chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra on sacred beads a prescribed number of times daily comprises one of our regulative principles and is called japa. Aindra das would say that good japa means good kirtan. Furthermore, he insisted that all the musicians chant during kirtan. ‘Else, whatever you do is zero,’ he’d say.
